If I register for GST / HST, but earn less than $30,000 per year, do I need to charge the tax?

If you have an active GST / HST account, you are required to charge the tax on any taxable services or products regardless of the annual sales.

The only exception occurs when you are exporting the services or products from Canada. In that case, you do not have to charge the tax.
